    1. UAV Drone Master Program

    One of Taiwan's future key industries booming is drone technology which started drawing public attention several years ago. UAV is a cross-system integration technology that integrates control, navigation, communication, aerodynamics, GPS positioning, and high-energy-density batteries. The relative usage of drones today keeps booming more than ever, and their application levels are quite extensive, ranging from the environmental investigation, national defense, fire and disaster relief, occupational safety, aerial photography, green energy industry...etc. Due to the broad aspects of the application for drones, plus their data analysis capabilities under the existing basic professional skills, drones will be able to enhance further the roles they play. Therefore, the educational goal of this course is mainly to help students build up in-depth knowledge of UAV applications and to cultivate students with the following abilities:

    1. UAV production and development, mission planning, execution and management;
    2. Obtaining the drone professional license before graduation;
    3. Data analysis and post-processing of UAV data acquisition.

    Employment in the future

    Through this program, we will quickly train international students to study drone professional technology and data analysis and processing. Students will be assisted as much as possible to get employed in Taiwan's drone industry after graduation. The drone program advocated by Huafan University has signed industry-university cooperation contracts with two drone companies, GEOSAT company and Hang Jian Technology LTD. With abundant industry-academia capabilities, HFU has been deeply engaged in the research and development of UAV technology for eight years. It forms a very solid foundation for the assembly of UAV systems and various components of UAVs, as well as hands-on experience in various industrial applications of UAVs. In addition, the school has successfully passed the assessment of the Civil Aviation Administration in early 2022 and has become the national official examination field for issuing national drone licenses.

    Industry Internship

    For our UAV master program, we plan to sign an industrial-academia collaboration agreement with two UAV companies, GEOSAT Aerospace and Technology Inc. and Hang Jian Technology C. Ltd. As a result, international students will be able to enter the Taiwanese workforce seamlessly. Our school maintains strong collaborative ties between the industry and academia and fosters many professional technicians in UAV industry.

     

    2. IC Design and Manufacturing Equipment Master Program

    IC design and manufacturing equipment is one of the most important industries in Taiwan. However, in recent years, Taiwan IC factories have seriously lacked technical talents in various fields such as design and manufacturing. To supplement the shortage of talents in IC design and manufacturing plants in Taiwan, this program will recruit international engineering graduates with basic English ability to study theories and applications related to IC design and manufacturing equipment. The program not only includes learning professional techniques such as IC design with hardware description language and layout in our school's VLSI laboratory but also provides an internship in the dust-free room of the Nano Electromechanical Center of National Taiwan University. Internship projects include IC wafer exposure machines, plasma etching machines, photoresist coating machines, sputtering machines, evaporation machines, and other important IC manufacturing equipment.

    Employment in the future

    Huafan University has signed several Industry-Academy Cooperation Projects with some famous electronic companies in the area of IC design and manufacturing equipment in Taiwan. It provides a lot of internship opportunities for the students in this program. Under the training in IC design and manufacturing equipment, international students can successfully integrate into Taiwan for employment after graduation.

    Industry Internship

    We have already signed a collaboration agreement between our IC Design and Manufacturing Equipment master program and the Nano Electro Mechanical System (NEMS) Research Center. Students in the master program can easily apply for internships. We hope with solid professional training our international students can enter the workforce smoothly after graduation.

    Scholarship and Language Requirements

    1. The scholarship for key industrial Master’s program shall be implemented after being approved by the Programs Affairs Meeting.Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees Exemption:Approved students can get their tuition and miscellaneous fees exempted for the first school year. Students need to pass an examination and get approval from the school to apply for exemption from their tuition and miscellaneous fees for the second year.

    2. B1 level of CEFR is required for the students of none English speaking countries.
